APL Business Development Programme, The APL Business Development Programme has supported over 20 business find their way to either improving their current business model, expanding their business or creating a new pathway all together within the sector. The course that takes place over five days is an exclusive training opportunity and is limited to 10 attendees ensuring dedicated one-to-one guidance. Taking the time out to work on your business and not in it is essential. This industry specific course delivers on every level including peer to peer support that has been so vital in the success of the APL Cluster meetings. Those who have attended have all been more than satisfied with the course and the focus it helped stimulate in guiding their businesses through the next 3,5,10 years. The Cost of the course is £800 + Vat payable in 3 instalments £300 + Vat on application £300 + Vat due 4th October £200 + Vat due 8th November
It is open to members and non-members and can be appropriate for Landscape and Design Businesses.

Part 2 Financial Planning and Management — 2 days Business simulation working in teams to plan the development of a business and review financial impact of decisions made at each team meeting Scope of financial management Managing income Controlling costs Getting better deals Relationship of mark ups to margins Project planning Budgets and forecasting Capital planning and depreciation Profit and loss account Key financial indicators to look at Calculating break even Managing cash flow Revising financial objectives Risk management – evaluating what if’s
Part 3 Presentation and Review of Business Plans — 1 day The Plans are presented to a panel of industry leaders for feedback and mentorship.
